Unlike the performances of most stand-up acts, who use the audience as a time-filling fall back, Hills's self-directed show is the audience. At the centre of his act is an elaborate audience participation game - a Jerry Springer skit, complete with chair-throwing and a fistfight. He has a pub psychologist's precision when it comes to the delicate art of piss-taking; never patronising, he riles his 'volunteers' in a way that could convince a teetotal librarian to dance on the table doing an Elvis impression.
