Shappi Khorsandi
Shappi Talk is a hilarious new Radio 4 comedy series with Shappi Khorsandi (Live At The Apollo, The News Quiz) with stand up and interviews around Shappi’s Iranian life.

She’s joined by Felix Dexter (The Fast Show, Absolutely Fabulous and Have I Got News For You), Stewart Francis (MockThe Week), John Gordillo (“one of our finest stand ups“ Evening Standard) and Paul Sinha (“full of bright ideas with a ready wit and a compelling pace” Chortle).

The show will also include interviews Shappi has had with Lenny Henry, Meera Syal, Ken Livingstone and Ben Okri. There’ll also be a song from comedian Hils Barker.

In the early 80s Shappi became a refugee, long before it became fashionable. Nevertheless, having left Tehran for London, Shappi and her family were still not safe. As assassins chased after them, they went into hiding and tried to leave a normal life - seeing friends, going to school, checking under the car for bombs. Shappi tells her true story in a brilliantly intelligent and funny show
