NEW NAMES ADDED TO STAR-STUDDED CHANNEL 4 COMEDY GALA LINE-UP – JON RICHARDSON, MIRANDA HART, WARWICK DAVIS, NINA CONTI AND DIVERSITY
More names have been added to the bill for Channel 4′s Comedy Gala Live At The 02 on Saturday 18th May. Already a packed line-up featuring many of the UK’s finest comedians, it can now be announced that joining the likes of Lee Evans, Michael McIntyre, Alan Carr, Rhod Gilbert and Jack Dee will be Jon Richardson, Miranda Hart, Warwick Davis and Nina Conti – plus a very special show-stopping performance from street dance phenomenons Diversity.

MICHAEL MCINTYRE’S DVD SHOWTIME NUMBER ONE ON CHRISTMAS DAY
The DVD Michael McIntyre – Showtime was number one on Christmas Day in the official UK Comedy Stand-Up Chart and finished the week with 65,090 sales, ahead of Mrs Brown’s Boys with 49,015 sales for the week leading up to Christmas Day and finishing on Saturday 29th December. Kevin Bridges – The Story Continues… climbs to number five with 27,093 sales, with Jon Richardson – Funny Magnet at number eleven with 9,205 sales closely followed by Dara O Brian – Craic Dealer at twelve with 7,950. Paul Chowdhry – What’s Happening White People? has climbed to twenty-one with 1,.549 sales. Sales figures are for the period Sunday 23rd until Saturday 29th December 2012.

C4 COMEDY GALA IN AID OF GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL AT THE LONDON O2 ARENA SELLS 7000 TICKETS ON THE OPENING DAY
The C4 Comedy Gala in aid of Great Ormond St Hospital sold over 7,000 tickets on its opening day of sale for the all star comedy event at the London o2 Arena on Friday 11th May (7:30pm show).
The line-up confirmed so far is Lee Evans, Michael McIntyre, Jonathan Ross, Micky Flanagan, Sean Lock, Kevin Bridges, Jo Brand, Jack Whitehall, Jack Dee, Jon Richardson, Seann Walsh, Lee Nelson, Josh Widdicombe, Paul Chowdhry plus special guests, as we raise money for a new operating theatre.

JON RICHARDSON CONFIRMED AS NEW TEAM CAPTAIN ON 8 OUT OF 10 CATS
Channel 4 have confirmed Jon Richardson as the new team captain on 8 Out Of 10 Cats, replacing Jason Manford. Recordings will take place in June and the new series will go out on Friday nights from the 17th June.

Jon Richardson is a stand-up comedian from Lancaster. His first solo Edinburgh show about his obsessive compulsive personality disorder was nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival. His 2009 show about his resulting perfectionism was nominated in the Best Show category. He is a regular Have I Got News For You panellist, star of Live At The Apollo, team member of Channel 4’s Stand Up For The Week and team captain of Channel 4’s long-running series 8 Out Of 10 Cats. It’s Not Me It’s You, Jon’s highly anticipated first self penned book was released in June 2011.

Away from stand-up Jon is massively in demand for television and radio appearances. His recent TV credits include; Have I Got News For You (BBC1), Live At The Apollo (BBC1), 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC2), Channel 4′s Comedy Gala Live At The 02, Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2), Grumpy Young Men (Comedy Central), Richard Bacon’s Beer And Pizza Club (ITV4), The Bubble (BBC2) and Walk On The Wild Side (BBC2).
Jon has also made appearances on numerous radio shows, including And The Winner Is (BBC Radio 2, hosted by Matt Lucas), Act Your Age (BBC Radio 4), The Museum Of Curiosity (BBC Radio 4) and is also a regular contributor on Five Live’s Fighting Talk. He has also hosted his own Sunday morning radio show on BBC6 Music.

Jon is also a talented writer and contributor to national newspapers, most notably penning a cover article for the Guardian’s Weekend Magazine for its Valentine’s Day issue.
A regular on the stand-up circuit, Jon’s first gig was in 2003 where he won his heat of the BBC New Comedy Talent Search. After completing a 60 date UK with Alan Carr in 2006, Jon won Best Breakthrough Act at the 2007 Chortle Awards and went on to receive a Best Newcomer nomination for his show Spatula Pad at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This was followed in 2008 with a successful Edinburgh run of his second solo show Dogmatic and a subsequent Edinburgh Comedy Award best show nomination in 2009 for his third Edinburgh show, This Guy at Night.
