In his first ever gig, back in May 2003, Jon won his heat of the BBC New Talent Comedy Search. He also reached the semi-finals of the Laughing Horse New Act competition.
As he honed and developed his act throughout 2004, Jon made it to the final of the J20 Last Laugh Comedy Search.

Having impressed a sell-out crowd in Bristol he marked the end of his first year in comedy with a performance at the Criterion Theatre in London's West End. Judges Jasper Carrot and Dave Spikey were both "extremely impressed" with Jon's performance.

By 2006 Jon was appearing on the Comedy Zone at the Edinburgh Festival, he completed a 60-date UK and Irish tour with Alan Carr and appeared on Paramount's The Comedy Store

Jon walked away with the Best Breakthrough Act (Chortle) and was nominated for the if.comedy Best Newcomer Award at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival. He was also listed under 'Best of London Comedy' in Time Out's review of 2007.

Jon can currently be heard on BBC 6music’s Radio show every Sunday from 10am to 1pm. If you miss it, you can get Jon's 6 Music podcast here.

In the words of the inimitable Jim Bowen, “I'll smack his arse if he gets any funnier. He’s more than talented.

Edinburgh 2008 - Dogmatic
Jon's 2008 show, 'Dogmatic', earned a deserved 4 stars in The Independent, The Metro and Chortle.co.uk. Jon also recieved the accolade "the bee's knees of young British comedians" (The List)

Edinburgh 2007 – Spatula Pad
In his eagerly anticipated debut show, the BBC 6music favourite unleashed the comedy of his obsessive compulsions.

The fresh faced 24 year old’s cheerily misanthropic persona works brilliantly, coming across like a junior Victor Meldrew, only wittier. It's rare to encounter a show so effortlessly slick performed by someone so young ****The Scotsman

Flawed perfectionist ****Mail On Sunday

Charming and self-effacing, delightfully surreal a high quality show ****The List

A superb young comedian Festival Magazine
